Updates

Hanging in the Tree

August 1, 2004: Well I finally got a chance to sit down and put up some of the new events that have been happening (and some old events that I never got the chance to post). These past two months ave been crazy! I've been to Dallas and San Fransisco again this year marking my third straight year going to both places. It was a blast! I got to spend time with my Nephew at the zoo and get worn out by his incredible amount of energy. I've host two Fogel Casino Texas Hold'em Poker nights (co-winning one since it was so late and I had to work the next day). To top it all off I got my M1 motorcycle license, did a three day motorcycle course and now have my M2 (just need to wait until September due to the mandatory 60 days at your M1). So I'm motorcycle shopping! I'm so excited to get one. I've been driving friends nuts asking about the different bikes they own and would recommend. I was set on the Honda Shadow VLX but it was too small for me to ride comfortably. So I have to start looking again for the bike I want.

June 13, 2004: Yesterday was the IFBB Toronto Invitiational. It was a beautiful day out so I wandered around Mel Lastman square (which happened to have the Russian Cultural Fair on) for a little while before Dom, Steph, and I wandered into the Toronto Centre for the Arts and into a room full of really built people. I guess with such a small venue only the die hards will come out. Well they were out in force and some even jumped on stage for the "Great Canadian Posedown" which was an event that had audience members get on stage for a $500 prize. Chris Cormier got on stage as well with the audience which would have been really cool to be up there with him. Maybe if I even get chizeled enough I might attempt that. It was a great show, and we were really close to the stage so it was nice to see all the detail in the msucles. Enjoy the video and pictures. It was hard to get nice clean pictures from where I was so I've had to trim out a lot.

May 27, 2004: I know, it's been a while. This time I actually put up a new event within a week of doing it! It's been a busy month around here but only one event did I take pictures at. I should post friend's pictures of the other events. I just got back from Ottawa on Monday night so this is the first chance I've had to sit down and write the site update. It was great to see JP, Ian, Kathryn, and Justin. It's four days but my forearms are finally recovered from rock climbing! I wasn't slacking too much either despite the lack of a gym. Over the weekend I did two bowflex workouts, pilates, and rock climbing! Then a lot of walking all over the place. I'm not as hardcore as Anne-Marie who did an hour and a half run and then joined us for a walk along the canal. It was a great weekend trip and anytime people want to come up and visit KW they are more than welcome!

March 25, 2004: It's been a month since my last update and there is a ton of stuff that has changed. That's right it's Wedding season. March 1st I helped celebrate my brother's wedding in Las Vegas and March 20th Karen's wedding took place in Guelph. So very busy times for me and very exciting times for the people in my life. Congratulations to all! the pictures from their wedding are up under the events section. What else have I been up to? I've created the first batch of wine. That's right Fogel Estates wines will soon be available to sample. Here's hoping they taste good. I've been back on the healthy eating wagon (other than the weddings but I can't be faulted for that) so expect some updates to the Workout section in the coming weeks.

Feb 25, 2004: I know I've been slacking on updating this page. In fact I've been toying with a total redesign but just haven't had the time to actually sit down and do it (All CSS and the latest technologies of course). Perhaps when I go on Vacation next week and I'm sitting in the airport for a couple hours. Anyway, I've finally got around to an update. I've put up the pictures from the Toronto Car Show. I'm using a new program to generate the thumbnail pages so I'm sure there will be some broken links. It just looks so much nicer than the last one.

Oktoberfest

Oct 12, 2003: Well the start of Oktoberfest has come and now gone. This year's event was Bingeman's which is one that I've never been to before. Plus only Jeff and Dom were the repeats from last year so it was seven new people joining in this year. Thanks to Dom for driving the T.O. people up here despite still adapting to his new eyes! I'm really glad Dana and Jen could make it up. To save me typing out everyone else's names (yes I'm lazy) just a overall thanks to everyone who came up and made the evening a blast and for the fun of bombing around the Farmer's Market the next day looking for new shades for Dom. The pictures are up under the events section.

Sept 21, 2003: I know it has been ages since this page last got updated but there will certainly be some updates starting very shortly. First of all I just got back from Importfest so those pictures are now up under the events section. Other pictures will go up from September's events as I get them from friends who brought their cameras. Also I'm starting my sculpting project this week so I'll have some pictures of that under the artwork section once I start working on it.

Shooting some Arrows

August 4, 2003: Well it was time to go back to the Renaissance Festival in Milton this long weekend. It was a good time and a nice gathering of some friends. We had a bigger crowd gather this year than last year so we'll see if it grows even bigger next year. I'll have to start my own Clan if it continues and start going in a goofy costume or something (except for the sword..cause swords are cool). My archery skills are still legendary so watch out if the gun goes out of style and the long bow comes back. I was just looking at the history of these little rambles and this site is over a year old. How time flies and how I've been putting off the redesign.

July 20, 2003: I've finally added some new content! That's right actually text instead of just a gallery of pictures. I've updated my workout out section with some my some nutrition information to help people break down the amount of calories that they need. I was told that I needed to update my workout section cause it appeared that I had done nothing since the Olympia in 2002. Since then I've been through about three different program and have taking my training to a whole new level of focus. I've spend a lot of time figuring out my diet and what I should be eating and how I should be eating. Before it was eating the standard three in portions that three people could eat! Just for reference one meal I still make lasts six meals instead of the two that it used to last me. I've just started in whole new training program, started new supplements, and locked down my diet.

It should get me back on track after my two weeks vacation and then my week off to let my eyes heal. Another section was finally added to my site! I had the photography section always intended but I never got around to actually adding it. I guess I just needed to get out and learn more about photography before I could actually put that section up. All the pictures are in my events section but perhaps in the future I'll have some that aren't included in two separate places. I've included some information about the picture so that people can pick up some tips on how I took the photo if any of them came out better than I expected. I also tried to describe my intension on taking the photo. Sometimes it worked out and sometimes it didn't.

July 13, 2003: I had Lasik surgery performed on my eyes on July 10th and I'm recovering nicely now. Following the instructions to the letter about putting drops in my eyes and so forth. So far my site is almost perfect but a little fuzzy at times which they say will heal up in time. I'll have pictures of my wearing the blast shield goggles and so forth once I get the time to build a whole new section (menu item and all) for it.

July 7, 2003: Well it's been a busy couple of weeks for me as my brother has been up visiting. That means the event section once again gets updated. This time with pictures of the wine tour in Niagara, Niagara Falls, Unionville and Waterloo on Canada Day. Finally heading to Darknights, a modified car show. The wine tour is a bunch of fun and there are so many flavours of wine to try out. Soon I may actually figure out what I like in a wine. This is the last entry before I go under the knife and laser to get my eyes corrected. Soon I'll be free of glasses. So I'm sure there will be some before and after pictures.

Falls in Seattle

June 24, 2003: Got back from two weeks on the west coast this past Sunday. Been one hell of a trip as I toured all over the place. My feet are tired from all the walking. Thankfully I did some cardio before going so I was prepared for all the walking. San Francisco gave me the oppertunity to get together with Elton, who I haven't seen since second year university! Just great talking to old friends again. Then there was spending time with Yewchuk (fifth year roommate) again which is always a good time. Sitting upstairs in the bar with a pint of Guiness making plans to take over the world and become millionaires overnight! Spent some good time with the boys from work as well as we toured around the city.

Then it was off to Los Angeles where I got to crash at Chris and Karen's. Or as she'd prefer Karen and Chris'. But that just looks wrong. Had a great time playing in the cold ocean and practicing my frisbee skills. Karen even got me a beer! Something that has never happened in the years that I've known her!!! I'm still in shock (but I got a picture as proof). Finally off to Seattle to visit with Sean (my other fifth year roommate) and see what Microsoft was all about. Well it's about building a small city and calling it a business! The pro club was out of control! For a gym nut like me it was pure heaven - for a training partner like Sean it was a couple days of muscle soreness :). I was a pour tourist knocking off the sites on the map as quickly as I could see and enjoy them. Took in as much of the sites as I could in case I don't make it back anytime soon. Thanks to everyone I stayed with or that played taxi for me. It was great visiting everyone and perhaps I'll be lucky enough to do it next year. All are welcome to visit in KW if you like trying to figure out something to do!!

May 21, 2003: Just got back from my trip over the long weekend. Figured I should get the pics up quickly before I forgot or just delayed them. So tired from the lack of sleep but overall it was a fabulous time and was great to get out of here for a while. The pics are up in the events section. Thanks to Dave and Hernando for letting me crash at their places and being a taxi service for me. You guys are always welcome to come visit me here in KW (which would likely be the last place a sane person would want to go on their vacation -- but the offer is always there). Anyway, some time in the future I might even get to updating the other sections with the things I'm up to. So far the main thing I'm into is ordering huge amounts of books from Amazon.com!! That site is way too addictive!

April 6, 2003: Added my latest adventure. The Maple Syrup Festival in Elmira. Now stop being jealous! I know it's breathtaking in the excitment factor. Still I've heard about it for a while now and, despite being sick, decided to brave the nasty weather from the ice storm that pasted through in order to check out the festivities. My fingers got too cold to take too many pictures but I put up a couple. Think of a little town main street fair only selling tons of food and everything being covered by the goop from the maple tree. I like maple syrup as much as the next man but seeing the pitcher of it pouring away on my fluffy pancakes mad me almost gag. You need to eat quick if you don't want them to be totally soggy.

Hanging in the Tree

April 2, 2003: Finally added the Sunday pictures from Vegas. Forgot that I never put them up so that's why it took so long. Now that I'm home sick for a little while perhaps I'll add more content.

Feb 17, 2003: This past weekend was packed full of events. Thursday was the "Lion King" (at the Royal Alex), Friday was "This Could Be Love" (at the Poor Alex, 296 Brunswick). Both plays were quite good with the "This Could be Love" deserving of a better venue. Of course the time with my girlfriend over Hallmark Day was well worth it even if she made me wear a tie! Sunday was the Toronto International Autoshow which is now up under the events section. There are 200 pictures so you better like cars. In other event news it seems that Hernando was hording some pics of Dallas. Since he's now past them along I've got the events section for 2002 filled up with all the major trips I took. Eventually I'll start padding out the rest of the site.

Jan 9, 2003: The site has changed servers so it should be much faster to access for everyone. Now I can start putting even bigger pictures on! The only update so far has been the change to the flash menu. Finally I replaced the temporary women pictures with actual shots that better represent the sections. Hopefully I'll get more picture that I think will work and have it randomly pick! Then you won't have the standard boring meny all the time. What fun that will be. I'll soon be putting up some more pictures and perhaps some more content for you to read. Content! I know! Shocking!! The Renaissance festival pictures have also been added to the events section. Also I've thrown up what 2D pencil sketches I could find on my hard drive so there are more things to look for under the artwork pages.

Jan 1, 2003: Back from my Christmas holidays so it was time to put up some of the pictures that happened over those ten days. I've only put up the main interest ones since I don't think you all need to see the pictures of my family and I opening our presents or the ton of quick shots that didn't really turn out. My Dad now has a 5 megapixel camera so when I use that the shots will be even bigger than they currently are. I'll have to make bigger thumbnails people can download only what they really want to see.

Streets of San Fran

Dec 15, 2002: Decided to get something up under the artwork section. I've also added some links under the friends pages. I've been trying to write more content for this page but over the days and weeks since I started this page I've been busier and busier and doing more and more things. This will likely be the last update before Xmas. Over that time I'm sure I'll have more pictures to take.

Dec 1, 2002: I Finally go my ass in gear and linked in the pictures under the events section. There are still more that haven't made it there yet but I'll get to them soon. There are some other events that also need to be included but this will do for a quick update. Who knows, perhaps one day I'll get some content up there again since I have time now.

July 13, 2002: I sat down and played with photoshop and my new stylus a little and, following a tutorial, came up with this cool effect. Okay ripped off this cool effect. But still it's cool. Of course it really doesn't work with my earth tone background colour so I guess I'll have to keep playing. Soon more content will come online. I'm way to busy these days to do much.

May 23, 2002: I finally roughed in a start for the page. I'm not sure if this is how I want to the final page layed out but it will give a guide to work with. The pictures are just temporary till I get around to creating original pictures to fit in with those sections. I have so many other things that I want to do that I'm not all the worried about that look. I decided to go with earth tons since everyone is using blues, blacks, and such. Just a little difference in the site so I'm not completely copying people. And hey the flash menu is kinda cool even if it's really basic. The background images are linked in so that keeps the swf file small. Perhaps I'll put more flash on the page. After all it needs some blinking lights and loud sounds to really catch people's...umm...interest?
